Zyxel EX7710 Gateway Meets The Highest Provider And Customer Expectations For Wi-Fi Networks

Ultra-low latency, outstanding speed, and broad WAN management options, make the wireless 10G Ethernet gateway the right choice for today and tomorrow.

Internet service providers (ISP) searching for a way to keep pace with customer demand for high-speed, low-latency performance, especially as they add devices at home and in the workplace, require an Ethernet Gateway that’s up to the challenge.

A recent study from Parks Associates underscores the importance of internet performance. The study, “Home Internet Evolution—Consumer Perspective on Fiber and Gigabit Speeds,” found 40% of U.S. internet households experience download speeds below 250Mbps and as a result a generally dissatisfied with their existing service.

The Zyxel EX7710 Wi-Fi 6E 10G Ethernet Gateway is the perfect solution. Blending superior wireless and LAN performance with support for Plume OpenSync and the Broadband Forum’s TR-069/TR-181 WAN management protocols, the Zyxel EX7710 exceeds the expectations of customers while delivering the network management flexibility communications service providers require.

Capable of working with all automatic configuration server (ACS) vendors, the EX7710 is the first OpenSync-certified 10G level Wi-Fi device. With a recent firmware update, the gateway has validated 10Gbps internet speed using Speedtest Embedded by Ookla, a trusted bandwidth measurement solution.

Gateway Basics

The EX7710 supports the IEEE 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) wireless standard as well its Wi-Fi 6E extension. Zyxel offers the EX7710 gateway with a tri-band radio to deliver superior in-home and workplace connectivity, speed and throughput.

Specifically, the gateway’s radio provides 2.4 GHz band coverage and a 4x4 internal antenna, which delivers up to 1200 Mbps; 5 GHz and 4x4 internal antenna, which supports up to 4800 Mbps; and 6 GHz and 4x4 internal antenna, which provides up to 4800 Mbps. Just as important, the EX7710’s 6G radio positions ISPs for future deployments of Wi-Fi 7, the next generation of Wi-Fi service.

The EX7710’s included 4x4 MU-MIMO (multi-user, multiple input, multiple output) antennas enable transmission of four spatially multiplexed data streams, significantly elevating data speeds when compared to devices using 2x2 MIMO antenna designs.

To further boost the gateway’s connectivity, reliability and network efficiency, the EX7710 leverages OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Access) digital modulation and beamforming techniques that maximize the speed of connections with individual devices on the home or workplace network.

For ISPs deploying fiber to the home and workplace, the EX7710 is equipped with one 10GbE WAN port. The gateway also offers four 1GbE LAN ports as well as a one 10GbE LAN port for Ethernet connectivity to customer devices.

Management Options

Recognizing that ISPs employ various automatic configuration servers to manage and configure devices on their networks, Zyxel designed EX7710 with management flexibility in mind.

Zyxel pre-integrates OpenSync 4.4 with each EX7710 it ships. Support for Plume Design Inc.’s HomePass service suite ensures fast, reliable coverage throughout customer dwellings, while support for the Plume WorkPass service suite offers small business operators a do-it-yourself approach to networking, cybersecurity, business insights and guest analytics.

At the same time, the gateway is fully compliant with the Broadband Forum’s TR-069/TR-181 as well as TR-369 protocols for communications between consumer premises equipment (CPE) and their auto-configuration server.

Why The Zyxel EX7710

In today’s competitive market where consumers have many choices about which communications service provider best meets their needs, it’s important not to let technology stand in the way of customer satisfaction.

Delivering superior performance in terms of data speeds and reliability are qualities providers can depend on to build a closer relationship with customers. The EX7710 delivers both—resulting in greater customer loyalty, reduced churn and greater return on investment in the technology.

With outstanding MU-MIMO performance and beamforming support, customers can build out their networks, adding devices and users to the network without risking slower speeds, higher latency or spotty Wi-Fi connectivity.

For home customers, that translates into enabling more household users and connected devices, which is especially important as the public adopts more smart home devices. For those in business settings, it means meeting the connectivity demands of employees and customers alike, as well as providing the flexibility to modify networks as coverage demands and the number of networked devices change.

The gateway also leverages Zyxel’s OPAL firmware, which reduces time to market for custom-made applications and services—a major plus in today’s highly competitive market. OPAL also makes it simple and seamless for providers to migrate customers from older to new technology and offers convenient gateway management.

The EX7710 is also easy for providers to deploy with support for multiple SSIDs (service set identifications) and manage—whether with Plume OpenSync or industry adopted WAN management protocols.

Communications service providers will also realize savings as the EX7710 is simple to deploy and use. That means fewer truck rolls, reduced maintenance costs and ultimately greater profitability.

Built For Today and Tomorrow

As consumers increasingly add smart home devices and businesses place increasing demands on their networks, it is essential that ISPs keep pace. Failure to do so threatens higher churn, likely revenue loss and higher costs to win back customers once they’ve turned elsewhere for service.

Fortunately, the Zyxel EX7710 Wi-Fi 6E 10G Ethernet Gateway offers providers a way to meet the demands customers place on their networks for speed and ultra-low latency while offering a path to the future as customers begin adding Wi-Fi 7 devices to their networks.

With its tri-band radio, MU-MIMO antennas for all supported bands and features like beamforming, the EX7710 delivers the performance providers can count on to keep customers happy. Plus, built-in support for Plume OpenSync 4.4 as well as TR-069, TR-181 and TR-369 management protocols ensures ISPs have a choice of how to manage and update their gateways in the field.

With its rich feature set, the Zyxel EX7710 Wi-Fi 6E 10G Ethernet Gateway delivers a network solution for the home and office that meets the highest consumer expectations while offering ISPs a path to higher customer satisfaction, flexible network management and lower deployment and maintenance costs.
