VERIZON STARTS CULLING TRAC BRANDS
Well, we called it. We knew that when Verizon bought Tracfone, they wouldn’t hold on to all the different brands. And today, they’ve announced the “beginning of the end” for a few.
Thanks to a social media post from Tyler Childress (see below), we find Verizon has announced the end of Page Plus, Net10 and GoSmart. Effective November 1, new customers cannot be added to those brands – although their current customers can continue to refill. Retailers are being told that they can continue to sell Simple and TracFone brands.
TRACFONE WIRELESS REMAINS COMMITTED TO ENSURING BRANDS IN OUR AUTHORIZED RETAILER CHANNEL REMAIN COMPETITIVE AND BRINGS THE BEST VALUE FOR THE CUSTOMER SEGMENTS WE SERVE IN YOUR STORES. EFFECTIVE 11/1/2022, PAGE PLUS, NET10, AND GOSMART BRANDS WILL NO LONGER BE AVAILABLE FOR NEW CUSTOMERS.
THIS CHANGE WILL HAVE NO IMPACT ON EXISTING CUSTOMERS. THEY CAN CONTINUE TO REFILL SERVICE IN-STORE THROUGH DAP.
AUTHORIZED RETAILERS CAN CONTINUE TO SELL OUR SIMPLE MOBILE AND TRACFONE BRANDS TO NEW CUSTOMERS.
