Metro By T-Mobile Has New $40 Unlimited Plan Promo With International Calling To Mexico & Latin Amer

Metro by T-Mobile has a new $40/month unlimited plan switcher offer out. The plan includes unlimited 4G LTE/5G data and unlimited calling and texting to Mexico. Calling and texting to 20 Latin American countries is also included. Switchers to the plan are eligible for a free Samsung Galaxy A32 5G. The $40 unlimited plan offer also appears to be supported by a couple of new TV ads.

Metro is marketing the plan to Boost and Cricket customers. Metro's website and the new commercials tell viewers to "Ditch Boost and Cricket and stop paying extra to connect to Latin America." Back in July, Metro launched a $25 unlimited plan switcher offer also aimed at Cricket and Boost customers. That offer is still available. Metro continues to have a $40 unlimited plan switcher deal available to BYOD customers that does not include international calling.

$40 Unlimited Plan Switcher Details

The $40 unlimited plan with international calling to Mexico & Latin American countries does of course have a little bit of fine print. The plan will only be available until 10/15/21. Autopay billing is also required. Without autopay billing enabled, the price of the plan is $55/month. The autopay billing discount does not kick in until the 3rd billing cycle. Video streaming is limited to a resolution of 480p. Due to network prioritization, customers that use more than 35GB of data in a billing cycle may noticed reduced speeds during times of network congestion and Metro customers may also notice slower data speeds than T-Mobile customers.

Below is a table showing the included number of minutes available with the plan to call each supported country.

New TV Ads

The two new TV and video ads are likely airing in a limited number of markets and platforms as they are all in Spanish. The two ads are actually just variations of each other with one being 30 seconds and the other 15 seconds. According to iSpot.TV, both ads were launched within the past week. The 30 second ad variation also appeared on YouTube just a few days ago. You can watch that here or further down below.

According to Google's translation of the ad, it starts off by telling its viewers that "Boost and Cricket charge extra for connecting to Latin America" but Metro does not. It goes on to say that connecting with family is everything and that's why the plan includes calling and texting to Mexico and 20 Latin American countries. Viewers are told they can switch and get the plan for just $40/month. The ad continues with a mention of the free Samsung Galaxy A32 5G offer that Metro has had running for a few months now. Finally it finishes with the tagline "conquer your day with international calls only by Metro." The 15 second version of the ad is the same thing minus the mention of the free Samsung Galaxy A32 5G offer and minus the mention of the "conquer your day with international calls only by Metro."
